Biografia

Sono nato nel 1976 a Palmanova, Udine. Mi sono laureato all'università di Trieste nel 2001, con una tesi di laurea sull'apprendimento implicito. Nell'Aprile 2005 ho ottenuto il dottorato di ricerca in Psicologia, sempre all'Università di Trieste, con una tesi sull'Ipotesi del Marcatore Somatico.

Interessi di ricerca

Il mio principale interesse sono i fondamenti neurologici e computazionali dei modelli cognitivi. In particolare, cerco di comprendere come la cognizione emerga dall'interazione di processi di più basso livello, che possono essere formalizzati e simulati al calcolatore, in maniera simbolica o connessionista. Per identificare queste sottocomponenti faccio uso di dati provenienti sia da pazienti che da soggetti sani reclutati per esperimenti. In particolare, mi sono interessato alla distinzione tra cognizione implicita ed esplicita, e dei rapporti che intercorrono tra coscienza, funzioni esecutive, ed emozioni.
